Happy Holiday Family Sessions

Happy Holidays! Or, what’s left… Happy New Year!

I didn’t want to share these beautiful families TOO early in the season and spoil their fun as their holiday greetings were delivered to friends and family near and far.

Just after Thanksgiving, I had the privilege of gathering all of these wonderful families for their annual portraits. Some of them were first timers, some have been coming year after year. Either way, it’s a great opportunity to STOP, SLOW DOWN and HUG each other.

We all move way too fast ALL THE TIME, worried about way too much and being, in general, way too “busy”. To stand next to your family members, hold onto their shoulder, elbow or knee and feel them smiling, this is something we don’t embrace often enough. To actually reach out and HUG them? That’s just silly. And a shame. We need to hug more. Is that too much to ask? Slow down, stop and hug. Let’s make it the new stop, drop and roll.

Now let’s meet these fab families, starting with the Deacons.

I have been watching these three kiddos grow up every year. What a joy!

The same goes for this family. I met Sebastian (now SEVEN!) when he was ONE and dove face first into a big birthday cake. Speaking of which, keep your eyes peeled for Evelyn’s “haunted” first birthday photos! Oooh, I can’t wait to share!

The Stein family is another one that I’ve known for ages. In fact, I had to sit down from the shock of seeing John so tall. That boy GREW!! Wowsa!

This next family, the Detvan clan, is coming very close to being outnumbered by their dogs. I wouldn’t necessarily be mad about that. Bring me alllll the dogs.

Finally, we have the Waala family. Outside of meeting all of them in a perfectly timed photo session, my favorite part was when Grandma picked up her portraits and CRIED when she saw them. My job here is done.

If you missed the holiday sessions in November but still want to update your family portrait, it’s never too late. Let’s talk! I’m now scheduling portrait sessions for 2024, so reserve your date today.
