Anyone looking to know their options regarding buy or selling home, refinancing a mortgage, and even renters who want to know their options.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN YOUR FIELD OF WORK?
Like many in their early 20's right out of college, I was looking for a way to be highly compensated for my work. Over time, however, I've stayed in the mortgage business to coach my clients on how to make an informed choice regarding their mortgage options. I also love coaching my business partners on how to take their respective businesses to the next level. My team of loan officers also provide me great pride and joy as I have a front row seat to their hard work and growth.
WHAT IS ONE THING PEOPLE think THEY KNOW ABOUT YOUR JOB?
That it's nothing but networking and closings followed by big paychecks. This job is riddled with 1000's of rules, and those rules change very regularly. It's a lot to know. It's also usually tied to the biggest transaction of a person's life and, as such, emotions can run high. Unlike the marketing that is out there, you cannot really just push a button and get a mortgage. :-)
NAME ONE THING YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOUR JOB?
It's very hard work and takes years to build up a solid reputation. It's also very rewarding.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Seeing people achieve their goals; home ownership, wealth building, business building, etc. So many things.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING OUT IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
Put in the time. Turn on the lights in the AM and turn them off at night; do that for two years, then focus on efficiency.
