It was so weird to photograph Melissa’s senior portraits…. when she’s only in FIFTH GRADE!!!!
Just kidding, she’s really a senior.
But seriously, these kids are simply growing up too darn fast. (stomps foot)
I really enjoyed photographing Melissa. She encapsulated why I love what I do… so many people are a little nervous and timid as we start their session. Once I properly capture the first few shots, I make sure to share the back of the camera. Just a little glimpse to say, “You got this, look how great you look!” Sometimes when I do that, I experience a lightbulb moment, heart-stopping emotion, sudden emergence of self confidence that didn’t exist previously.
This is what happened with Melissa.
And it was beautiful to see.
It truly is the reason I love my job.
