Rachel Kauflin. Remember that name. This is a girl who has it all.
When you think “perfect score on the ACT” do you imagine the most down-to-earth, kind-hearted student? Do you imagine a competitive and caring athlete? Do you picture a girl who showed up to her senior photo session absolutely GLOWING? Well, Rachel is all those things… and so much more. Simply having a conversation with her leaves you feeling better about the world we live in.
Plus, she doesn’t know it yet, but she has volunteered to do all my math for me forever.
Allow me to SO proudly introduce you to Rachel, a graduating senior from the Wauwatosa West class of 2020.

AFTER GRADUATION
I committed to play Division I golf at Central Michigan University, and I plan on probably double majoring in actuarial science and statistics.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS?
Math has always been my favorite subject. I'm very good at it, and I appreciate the logic involved in the process of solving complex problems as well as the fact that there are concrete answers in math.
ACTIVITIES + SPORTS
A lot of my time is heavily devoted to golf, as I have found great success on the Wauwatosa high school team as well as on the Wisconsin summer junior tour. At Tosa West, I am involved in Key Club, Orchestra, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, and Link Crew. I was also a part of the Tosa West APPSE program for the 2018-2019 school year, where we placed 11th in the country. I also played ice hockey from approximately 2011 to 2017.
ACHIEVEMENTS + AWARDS
I've been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout high school, and got a perfect 36 on the ACT. I’m a National Merit Finalist and winner of the Centralis Scholarship at Central Michigan. On the golf front, I was part of the the GCAOW Gold First Team All-State, I was the Wisconsin Junior PGA 2018 Player of the Year, I placed 3rd at state last year, and I'm a two time Greater Metro Conference Player of the Year.
MY PROUDEST MOMENT WAS...
Probably verbally committing to Central Michigan, because it is a culmination of all the hard work I've done for many years in regards to both golf and academics.
FOR WORK…
Not currently working, but my parents have been nagging me a lot and I will definitely get a job once the high school golf season is over if not sooner.
MY DREAM JOB IS...
Working in analytics for a pro hockey team
FOR FUN I LIKE TO…
I play a lot of golf, especially now is the summer, but I also spend a lot of time with family and friends, watching tv, playing board games etc. I also enjoy reading, listening to music, and knitting.
MY DREAM VACATION IS…
Switzerland! I mean, the mountains are amazing, and there are some super pretty golf courses there.
