Opening Day of the Market. That is such an accomplishment, and if you live in Wisconsin (or the midwest, for that matter) you totally understand why.
It's not simply the first day of Tosa's outdoor market to buy fresh vegetables and locally made foods. It's a sign that WE SURVIVED WINTER. We did it. We beat the cold. Plus, it is a true miracle that anything even grew this spring following those -1,000 degree wind chills. (That's cold!) Not only are we seeing crops coming back, but flowers, trees and plants of all kind have bloomed, the grass has turned green and I'm finally wearing flip flops again. Hallelujah!
In honor of the first day of the Tosa Farmer's Market and its Maker's Market, surviving winter and no longer having to wear 14 layers of wool to keep warm, I present this select group of images as AWARD WINNERS. No way, you say. You won an award for these pictures??? No. I did not. But I am giving the people, vendors and objects in these pictures special (imaginary) awards.
Without further ado...
