Tosa West HS | We'll miss hearing Maya sing

When you say “talent just oozes out of her,” THIS is the girl you’d be referring to. Maya Greenberg is a whip smart, musical powerhouse. She’s president of the senior class, earns lead roles in all the plays and is a multi-year force to be reckoned with on one of the top AAPSE groups in the country.

As if that weren’t enough, she just happens to be drop dead gorgeous.

World, meet Maya.

Maya, go get that big world out there. It’s yours for the taking!

Gorgeous Sneak Peek, Gorgeous Graduate

This weekend in Wisconsin we experienced weather worth waiting for. I mean, it really was perfection, right? Blue skies, bright sunshine. light breeze, not too warm, not too cool. Absolutely idyllic.

Scheduling outdoor spring portraits can be a bit of a challenge but man, oh man did we luck out! After rescheduling Micah’s senior photos a couple of times, Saturday was our last chance.

It was meant to be.

Allow me to introduce this beautiful girl who will be graduating next month. Here’s Micah’s Sneak Peek…

Tosa East class of 2019 | Jack Hollander

Meet this kind gentleman. Part of why I do what I do is that I love helping young men and women shine through their senior photos. Slowly (but surely!) during our session, Jack warmed up to the camera and I was able to capture his nice smile. Did I mention his awesome socks?

He’s a history buff about to graduate from Wauwatosa East High School. Best of luck, Jack!

Check out these patriotic socks.

Sometimes mom will sneak in for a photo.

Okay, so I let mom sneak in for one… I can’t help it. Lisa’s a great mom and deserves all the best for her boys. Congratulations, Jack!

If you would like to work with me for your senior portraits, let’s talk! I’m now booking class of 2020 sessions. I promise I won’t bite and you might actually have some fun.

Treasured Family Photos | Rusty’s Family

This is such a special family. Wendy, is a mover and shaker in the finance world. (Congrats on your new job!) Her son Ian is as ADORABLE as can be. His smile lights up a room. Then there’s Justin, the love of Wendy’s life. They are such a happy little family. It’s a delight to see.

But that’s not all. Their fur baby - a dog with his own Facebook page! - is just as much a member of the family as any of the humans. Allow me to introduce Rusty the Party Dog.

This dog is a model and hammed it up for his family photography session.

I asked Wendy why she wanted to have photos done and her answer brought tears to my eyes…

Justin and I absolutely adore each other and our boys! I want to capture how much fun and love there is in our house! I haven’t had photos of Ian since he was a toddler. I want to capture his adorable boy face, missing teeth and all, before he’s a teenager. And our sugar-face Rusty, of course. I would like a shot of our hands with Rusty’s paw, if we can get it.
This shot is PAWsome.
Being a dog photography is a title I wear proudly.
This is the reason I’m a Family Photography.

Photography Tip

People ask me all the time if I will include their furry friends in their family photos. The answer is an eye roll (done out of love, of course) and a resounding YES! OF COURSE!!!

Want to know one of my little secrets to getting good photos of dogs? (Aside from lots and lots of treats!)

I try not to use their names. Usually dogs are trained to hear their name and a command - like “Come!” So if I call the dog’s name, they will probably react naturally by coming toward me. So I eliminate one small problem by avoiding using names. I’ll tell you what, it’s harder than you think!

Pet Photography Tip - Don’t use their name! Use a command that they know.

Wendy was so happy with her session and her final portraits that she stood up at a networking meeting and gave this testimonial on my behalf. I’m pretty sure we were ALL in tears. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job?!?

This family photo could almost be an album cover.
Children photography is fun to capture their spirit.
Photography Tip - Don’t use the dog’s name when you’re trying to get them to pose.
Loved photographing this warm embrace.
This family photo session was so fun and I loved that they included their dog.

Do you want to capture your family as they are right now? I’d love to photograph your family (pets included!). Please contact me to book your session.

NAME
Thom J. Cauley

ROLE
Actor, Singer, Dancer, Writer

ThomasCauley-actor-headshot.jpg

WHAT IS YOUR IDEAL VENUE?
Theatre, film, performing arts groups, etc.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN YOUR FIELD OF WORK?
After having a lifelong interest, and strong encouragement in the high school years. I decided to dedicate myself to performing.

First getting my Theatre BFA (Primarily musical theatre, but also studying stage combat, commedia dell-arte, shakespeare, dance, just to name a few)

Followed up by an acting apprenticeship at Williamstown theatre festival.

WHAT IS SOMETHING PEOPLE think THEY KNOW ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?
That it's straightforward. Audition, and either you get it or you don't.

When in truth, you never stop training. You never stop learning. And you never stop struggling in some way or another.

NAME ONE THING THAT YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?
That there's always more than meets the eye.

People who've seen me dance don't always know about my singing or classical work.

The same for people who've seen my classical and other speaking roles.

Having an ace up your sleeve skill-wise can be nice, but it's also a double edged sword.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
The variety and constant inspiration

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING OUT IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
Don't let the initial rejections get to you. Every audition is a learning experience. And never be afraid to reach out.

WHAT IS THE ONE BOOK THAT YOU THINK I SHOULD READ RIGHT NOW?
The Dude and the Zen Master by Jeff Bridges & Bernie Glassman
