Thank you for allowing Stories Framed Photography to tell your stories in 2016. Here's to another year full of stories and faces and moments.
I have come to know and adore the people at the Tosa Farmers Market this season. The staff, the volunteers, the shoppers and OF COURSE the vendors.... the farmers and crafters and business owners.
If you haven't come by the market this year, you have TWO chances left. Don't miss it!
Opening Day of the Market. That is such an accomplishment, and if you live in Wisconsin (or the midwest, for that matter) you totally understand why.
It's not simply the first day of Tosa's outdoor market to buy fresh vegetables and locally made foods. It's a sign that WE SURVIVED WINTER. We did it. We beat the cold. Plus, it is a true miracle that anything even grew this spring following those -1,000 degree wind chills. (That's cold!) Not only are we seeing crops coming back, but flowers, trees and plants of all kind have bloomed, the grass has turned green and I'm finally wearing flip flops again. Hallelujah!
In honor of the first day of the Tosa Farmer's Market and its Maker's Market, surviving winter and no longer having to wear 14 layers of wool to keep warm, I present this select group of images as AWARD WINNERS. No way, you say. You won an award for these pictures??? No. I did not. But I am giving the people, vendors and objects in these pictures special (imaginary) awards.
Without further ado...
Tosa Farmer's Market Opening Day '14 Awards Ceremony
PILLOW MOST LIKELY TO BE PURCHASED BY A CURRENT MEMBER OF THE FDA.
COOLEST TEXTURED SOAP AT THE MARKET.
I just want to buy these soaps to photograph them. That is all.
ASPARAGUS MOST LIKELY TO BE IN THE ARMY.
At attention, Sergeant Green.
MOST LIKELY TO APPEAR ON RIBS LATER THAT DAY.
Oh, they were good. Let's just say.... there is no remaining evidence so you'll just have to trust me on this one.
BEST USE OF GRAPHIC DESIGN ON GREETING CARDS.
I really like these cards. They are right up my alley: clean, graphic, bold, a little cute and a little modern.
BEST COMBINATION OF FAT, LITTLE ANIMALS, WOOD AND EATING UTENSILS.
Seriously. The. Cutest. Forks.
MOST INTERESTING FUNGI IN ALL THE LAND.
I think this is considered "one" mushroom as they are all attached. Hm. It's all so bizarre looking that I just want to keep staring.
BEST THING EVER. BLUE RIBBON FOR CREATIVITY.
No words needed.
Sidebar -- this is the vendor who everyone laughed at. In a good way, of course.
CUTEST GIRL IN A STROLLER.
Look who I ran into! Cute little Harper strolling along through the market with her mom and big brother. She took one look at me and SNAP! I just couldn't resist her face.
See you next week at the Tosa Farmer's Market. I look forward to meeting new people, seeing new faces and terrifying my kids with random new vegetables that I bring home for them.
Oh, did you say that you're in the market (haha, get it?) for some updated family portraits? Here's an idea -- how fun would it be to take some shots of you and your family at the Farmer's Market? There are so many beautiful and lush nooks and crannies around the area that we can go to afterward. The market would be a fun and fresh addition to a family session. Let's do it! Email me today to reserve your Saturday morning (they are very limited).
