Of all the posts of all the high school seniors, this is my second most dreaded senior story I need to tell. The first one being my son, David, of course, who graduates this year as well.

How do I explain it, except by saying — I’ve been in my Keenan Era.
Twelve years ago, a very kind (and trusting) mom at school learned that I had started a photography business. She took a real chance, and hired me for a back-to-school session of her three beautiful little girls.
Tanya, my friend, I will forever be grateful to you. You have no idea what your kindness has done for me. Thank you, sincerely, for the GIFT you have given me, year after year, of bringing your stunningly beautiful girls to me, not only to photograph them, but allowing me to really get to know each one of them. Thank you for honoring me with the opportunity to watch them grow into amazing, talented and brilliant young women.
Oh, it’s been a spectacular journey! And one that I was truly, TRULY feel privileged to watch unfold.
My heart hurts as though I’m signing your final yearbook.
I refuse to say goodbye, this is just the end of our kids’ High School Era. They have made us ALL so proud.

FAVORITE SUBJECT
My favorite class was APPSE which is a government competition class that I was a part of. It was a really great experience and we got to take a trip to Washington DC.
POST-GRAD PLANS
Applying to UW Madison, Purdue, and Minnesota. I am thinking of studying engineering or business.
ACTIVITIES + SPORTS
Soccer, Feminist Student Union, Student Senate, Black girls summit, and peer tutoring.
SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS
Green and White award, 5th place nationally in We the People competition, and co-president of student council.
PROUDEST MOMENT
I was proud of the grades I got over the course of my junior year as it took a lot of effort to maintain good grades, so I was proud when it paid off.
