Wauwatosa West HS class of 2021 | Jessica

I don’t mean to be dramatic (yes I do) but this next senior story is a BIG DEAL.

Also, she tends to be rather dramatic herself. Oh, but wait! Before you start thinking I’m being mean - this is a compliment! She is an active - and very talented - actress in the Tosa West Trojan Players - her school’s theater department.

This is Jessica and she will be graduating (with flair!) from Wauwatosa West’s class of 2021.

Jess is an accomplished singer and dancer and she even learned to play the guitar. We created a senior portrait session just for her, to purposefully blend her smooth and quiet personality along with her talents and impeccable style.

I was proud to be the one to capture Jess in this milestone period of life, the transition from “childhood” and high school to “adulthood” and college student. Have you ever thought about WHY you should hire a professional? Here’s a quick review of why professional senior photography is so vital.

5 Reasons to Get Professional Senior Photos

1 | Capture your personality

For your parents, senior portraits were probably a little more formal—a nice dress or shirt and tie in a photo studio. And that’s it. Today, however, professional photographers who specialize in senior portraits are able to create images that are closer to works of art. Through skillful lighting, posing, and editing, a professional photographer can help capture images that show off your personality and the things you love.

2 | Celebrate your accomplishments

You’ve worked hard to get to graduation, from studying to sports, theater or other extracurriculars. You deserve to celebrate everything you’ve accomplished over the last four years. A senior portrait session is a great way to commemorate all that you’ve done while looking forward to the future.

3 | Remember this moment

Graduation is a huge occasion, and while you may feel like you will remember it forever, you’d be surprised at how quickly you can forget the feelings. Photos are a wonderful way to capture not only how you looked, but your personality, interests and emotion. Looking back on your senior photos in the future will allow you to remember that unique time in your life years later.

4 | Get the expertise you need

Anyone can snap a few photos, but if you want someone to make you look your absolute best, you need a professional photographer, say, like me. (wink) I can guide you through poses and even facial expressions to help get images you’ll love. Plus, my skill in lighting and composing photos, as well as editing, will give your photos the boost they need to be truly memorable.

5 | Make your parents happy

Yes, your senior photos are about you and all your accomplishments. However, they also mark a huge moment in your parents’ lives as well. What better way to thank them for their support than to give them a beautiful memento celebrating how far you’ve come?

Graduating from high school is an important milestone in your life, which is why it’s so important to document it. You deserve quality images that you can look back on for years to come and maybe even (gasp!) show your own children one day. A professional senior session is an investment in memories and well worth it.
