Frequently Asked Questions

You've got questions. I've got answers - and I promise, no question is too small or too silly. Senior portraits are a big deal (they really are!), and I want you to feel completely confident before we ever meet. Browse the FAQs below, and if something's still on your mind, just reach out. I love hearing from you!

  • The sweet spot is spring of junior year or early summer before senior year begins - think May through August. Sessions held in summer give you beautiful weather, lush locations, and zero deadline pressure. That said, early fall (September-October) is also gorgeous and still gives you plenty of time before yearbook deadlines hit. My calendar fills up fast in summer, so the earlier you reach out, the better!

  • The Complete Senior Experience session fee is $275 and includes an in-person pre-session consultation, up to two hours in my Brookfield studio and/or on location in the Milwaukee metro area, unlimited wardrobe changes (as time permits), and your Reveal + Selection Appointment where you'll view and choose your images. Print collections start at $995, and most clients invest around $2,000 in their custom heirloom products. Every printed product includes the matching digital files — so you're always getting both.

Prefer something simpler? The Express Senior Session is $995 all-in and includes a 20-minute session, one custom framed Gift Print, and two Gift Prints. It's a wonderful option if you just need a great yearbook photo and a little something for mom.

  • Oh, this is one of my favorite questions! The Milwaukee area is full of incredible spots — the Third Ward, the Milwaukee Art Museum waterfront, local murals, gorgeous parks, and cool urban streetscapes. We also have beautiful natural settings like wooded trails and open fields throughout the suburbs. My Brookfield studio is always an option too, especially if you want a clean, classic look or the weather isn't cooperating. During your pre-session consultation, we'll choose locations that truly match your vibe.

  • Wear outfits that feel like you - that's truly the only rule. Think about colors you love, textures that photograph beautifully (layers, knits, denim, florals), and pieces that make you feel confident. I always recommend bringing 2–4 outfit options: something casual, something a little dressier, and if you have a sport, instrument, or hobby you want to incorporate - bring that too! I'll help you plan your looks in our pre-session consultation so nothing is left to last-minute guessing.

  • The Complete Senior Experience is up to two hours - plenty of time for multiple outfits, multiple locations, and a relaxed pace where you're never feeling rushed. The Express Session is 20 minutes, designed for a streamlined, efficient experience. Either way, we keep things fun and low-pressure so you actually enjoy yourself. (Most seniors tell me afterward they had way more fun than they expected!)

  • Yes - please do! I love when seniors bring the things that make their story uniquely theirs. Sports equipment, musical instruments, art supplies, your car, your dog, your favorite book - all of it is fair game. Props like these make your images feel personal and meaningful rather than generic. We'll talk through ideas together at your consultation.

  • 100% yes - and you’re not alone in feeling that way! Most of my seniors walk in a little nervous and walk out wondering why they were ever worried. I guide you through every single pose in a natural, relaxed way. There are no stiff, awkward "just stand there and smile" moments here. I give gentle direction, we laugh a lot, and the result is images that look like you - not a posed version of someone you don't recognize.

  • Absolutely! I work with seniors from schools all over the Milwaukee metro area, including Brookfield Central, Brookfield East, Brookfield Academy, Wauwatosa East, Wauwatosa West, Nicolet, Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Arrowhead, Marquette University High School, Divine Savior Holy Angels, Franklin, Greendale, Kettle Moraine, Muskego, New Berlin West, Oconomowoc, Pewaukee, Pius XI, Waukesha North, Waukesha South, Waukesha West, Wisconsin Lutheran, and many more. If your school isn't on the list, reach out - I'd love to work with you!

  • As many as we can fit! For a Complete Senior Session (two hours), most seniors do 2–4 outfit changes comfortably. Variety is a great thing - it keeps your gallery interesting and gives you more options to choose from. Just pack what you love and we'll move through it together.

  • We have options! If it's raining or the weather just isn't cooperating, we can either move your session to my Brookfield studio for beautiful indoor portraits, or we can reschedule for a better day. This is Wisconsin - flexibility is part of the plan. We'll figure it out together with zero stress.

  • Definitely! Having your mom, a sibling, or a best friend along can make the whole experience more fun and help you feel at ease. Some of my favorite candid moments happen because a family member was there making everyone laugh. Just know that the session focus is on you - we can always sneak in a couple of fun shots with your guest too!

  • Absolutely. I'll come to our consultation with ideas and suggestions, but the final decision is always yours. If there's a spot that's meaningful to you - a park you grew up in, a neighborhood you love, somewhere tied to your story - I'm totally on board. The goal is for your photos to feel authentic, not like stock images.

  • About 2–3 days after your session, we'll meet for your Reveal + Selection Appointment - this is where you'll see all your proof images on a big screen and choose your favorites. It's one of my favorite parts of the whole process! Your final, edited prints and products are typically ready within a few weeks after your order is placed.

  • Yes! Every printed product you purchase - wall art, albums, gift prints, legacy boxes - comes with the matching digital file included. You'll never pay for a print and then have to pay again for the digital. It's all part of the same investment.

  • Every single image you select is fully edited and professionally retouched. That means color correction, skin retouching, and any finishing touches that help you look like your absolute best self - while still looking like you. No over-filtered, unrecognizable edits here. Just polished, timeless portraits.

  • Yes! This is one of my favorite little perks - I'll send your yearbook photo directly to your school on your behalf so you don't have to worry about deadlines, file formats, or any of the logistics. One less thing on your plate during a busy senior year!

  • A few things set my experience apart. First, it's truly custom - from the pre-session consultation to the location choices to the product selections, everything is built around you, not a template. Second, I specialize in helping seniors who are nervous or camera-shy actually have fun (it happens every time). Third, I'm a product-based photographer, which means your images end up as real, beautiful things - albums, wall art, heirloom pieces - not just files that sit on your phone forever. And I've been doing this in the Milwaukee area for over a decade, with multiple Top Choice Milwaukee awards to show for it.
