When we met - and even after we did his photos - Elijah struck me as rather quiet. I mean, don’t get me wrong, he’s got a BIG personality. But he’s timid and polite and does what he’s asked.
Another thing, when he said he played basketball, I nodded along. Of COURSE we will incorporate that into your photos. And so we did. I had him play around with the ball, shoot some baskets, pose here and there.
At the end of the day, as I tend to do, I asked Elijah if there was anything HE wanted to do. He looked at me so innocently and said, “I want to dunk. Can I do that?” Um…
YES. The answer is always yes.
And he did dunk…. and not just once.
And I was wildly impressed (as you should be too).

This next shot is one of my favorites from Elijah’s session. The wall is so simple and his expression is so hopeful. And I love the muffled reflection of the sunset on the metallic wall.
