Josh, his mom and I talked about his session. We discussed the location, what he would wear and what he would bring. He was surprised to hear that he should “come as he is” - I think he was worried I’d tell him to wear a suit or something. Nope! THIS is Joshua, anything else would be inauthentic.
The joy and elation he expressed when I told him to PLEASE bring his skateboard was priceless.
In fact, when we were taking his photos, the times he was merely HOLDING his board, he looked happier and more at ease. It really is a magical thing to see someone interact with something they love so much.
Funny story about Joshua… after talking to him about classes and other school activities, we discovered he and my son were in the same Digital Arts class at Tosa West! They both took the class to qualify for a trip to Japan scheduled for this June.
Aaaaand…. it was cancelled two months ago.
Stupid Covid. Sorry, guys.
I personally love all the photos with Joshua and his skateboard. But these two black and white shots are so cool. (He liked them too, bonus.)
