New Berlin West class of 2023 Sneak Peek | Ella

I’m so excited to share this high school senior Sneak Peek with you!

This girl is an absolute beauty, she’s funny and she was pretty much putty in my camera. Allow me to introduce you to Ella from New Berlin West High School’s Class of 2023.

When getting ready for your senior portraits, family photos or business headshots, there are a few key ingredients when it comes to wardrobe. Ella here nailed all of them!

First, let me ease your mind and tell you that clothing is the Numero Uno most asked question I get from clients. (In other words, you’re not alone!)

BASIC CLOTHING TIPS FOR PORTRAITS (as modeled by Ella)

  1. SOLIDS > PRINTS Solids photograph better than prints. If you don’t remember anything else, just try to avoid horizontal stripes.

  2. FITTED FLATTERS You don’t have to wear tight clothing but well-fitted clothing will make you look SO much better than loose or baggy clothes. As cute as some of the current styles are - think flowing shirts loose cardigans - they will actually make you look bigger in the camera.

  3. COLORS TO CONSIDER The colors you choose to wear can be a sign of the times and that may not necessarily be a good thing. (Think fluorescent yellow and 1983… ouch.) It also depends on the tone of your photos and your personality. Bold, neutral, soft, classic… what do you want to convey through color?

  4. ACCESSORIES ATTRACT The camera likes textures, layers and accessories. How much and what kinds is up to you and your personal style.

  5. SHOES MATTER Whether you choose no shoes or fancy shoes or gym shoes, make sure you consider them. (Aren’t Ella’s cowboy boots absolutely perfect?)

If you need even more guidance, not to worry. I help all my clients choose the best looks for their portraits. Book your session today and find out! (wink)

For real though - I DO still have openings this fall for senior portraits. Get it scheduled ASAP and don’t miss your yearbook deadline.
