Sneak Peek | Milwaukee couple + their BFF

Have you ever wondered what a "Power Couple" would actually look like? Well, here's your answer!

Meet Dan and Amanda. They are quite the pair, each entrepreneurs in their own right. In fact, I would even go as far as calling them Mr. and Mrs. Milwaukee. EVERYONE seems to know them. What? You don't??? Turn to the person next to you. Do they know Dan and Amanda. See? I told you.

Dan is THE Tall Guy of Tall Guy and a Grill and Amanda runs The Simple Home. I was completely honored when they asked me to photograph them.

Today I'm sharing one (adorable!) shot as a little Sneak Peek into their session.

Enjoy Sneak Peek, guys! And make sure you tell Murphy that the lady with all the treats says hi. :)

Is it time to update your family photos? Let's talk! I have some openings left for July but I'm also booking into August (and beyond). Let's get something scheduled today!

Sneak Peek and a Dog

After long last, Wendy brought her adorable and fun little family into the studio for some photos. One of the members is Rusty the Dog. (Yes that's a link to his very own - and very humorous! - Facebook page!)

Yup. Another family with a dog, another group of humans ignored by Abbie the photographer. I had treats all ready to go for the dog but poor (human) Ian got nada. I owe you, kid!

Everyone did great and I cannot wait to share the rest. Wendy and her blank walls will be very, very happy. I just know it.

For now, I love this shot. It's very American Gothic, don't you think?

Happy Sneak Peek Day!

Kettle Moraine HS senior portraits | class of 2017 | Nick

Today is yet another high school graduation celebration! Let's send a big shout-out to Nick and his family for a successful senior year at Kettle Moraine High School. Woot woot!

Senior Portraits | MKEseniors | Kettle Moraine farm | Nick

I had a fun time working with Nick on his senior portraits. First of all, he's got a great sense of humor. Lucky for me, he totally went along with my stupid 4th grade jokes.

Nick is an artist. He loves to draw and create new characters from his imagination.

Coincidentally, there were a few (non-imaginary) characters watching us during his photo shoot....

So, you see, Nick lives on a FARM. Those guys are his goats! And they wanted in on the action.

I always like to ask students if they have a favorite teacher. Nick did, and was glad to tell me why. Mr. Barder kept the class entertained and he taught so Nick stayed focused.

Nick may be unique in his likes, dislikes, wishes and desires, but one thing I observed from our conversation is that he is a classic-minded kid. He likes Billy Joel, Barnes & Noble and the color blue. You can't go wrong with that!

Random Fact: The tree in this photo is certified as the largest tree in southeast Wisconsin. It's so big you can't even hug it!

At the end of Nick's photo shoot/tour around his farm, we met up with a VIP -- a Very Important Pup.

Congratulations to Nick on his graduation from Kettle Moraine High School. I can't wait to see what you do with your future!

Cudahy Family Photography | The Hartlines at Seven Bridges Park, Milwaukee

When I ask, "what's your family like?" I never know what Mom will say. Sometimes they gush. Sometimes they warn me about an over-energetic child. Sometimes they just state the facts, ma'am.

Tracey told me a little of each. She clearly loves and adores her family. She informed me, as the boys are college-aged, they should be pretty obedient. She told me that all three boys - her husband Rick along with their sons Austin and Sawyer - are quiet. Boy was she right! Tracey and I spent the entire session gabbing, laughing and telling stories while the three guys and two cute little dogs listened along. (Surely rolling their eyes at us!)

Whether they were loud or quiet, calm or rambunctious, nothing matters unless they are themselves. Well, and perhaps some beautiful family portraits...

I cannot wait to deliver their breathtaking Gallery Wrap Canvas of this image... (SO excited!!!)

Here are a few more gems from their session.

Oh, but first --

FASHION SIDEBAR! Are you trying to decide on wardrobe colors for a summer session? Time and time again BLUE has proven itself to be a perfect choice. It plays along with the lush greens in the scenery while complimenting the dashes of red. Plus, look at them - you can totally get a sense of each family member's personality based on what they are wearing -- even within the color "constraints" they may have been told by Mom.

Five stars, Tracey! Bravo!

Don't forget, Checkers and Lucky. Any pet owner knows - pets are family, too! They are our Fur Babies!

We Have a New Baby... Who Barks | Stories Framed Photography | Wauwatosa Family (and dog) Photography

Some kids will go back to school after Spring Break and talk all about their fun trip to sunny Florida. Some kids will talk about their trip to the Milwaukee Public Museum. My kids will go back to school with a new little sister. In the form of a puppy.

We took the plunge! We added on to our family and adopted this beautiful little girl, the apple of all of our eyes.

Meet Shadow - our 3 1/2 month old Lab Mix. She has black, shiny fur with deep brown eyes. She is sweet, loving, a little shy and hates going potty outside. (AKA Mommy is house training the dog so if I make no sense it's because I'm DOG TIRED. Pun intended but at the present moment not too funny. Please send coffee.)

Looking at those pictures, I still can't believe that dog is OURS. Oh my GOSH!! As David said last night, "Daddy, punch me. I think I'm dreaming." (That's not a typo, haha.)

So... do you have a family dog? Unlike when I had (human) babies and unsolicited advice was annoying, this time around I would love to hear ideas on house training, obedience training, feeding and living with a dog in general. Leave your suggestions, ideas and stories in the comments. (Please?)

Also, now that the weather is improving, if you have a family pet that you would like to include in your next family portrait session, make sure you tell me so I know to bring treats. :) Schedule that family session right here.

You can be sure that there will be many, many more photos of Shadow. She will probably be one of the most photographed dogs in history. Probably.

For now, I'm going to "rest my eyes" for a few minutes until it's time to go outside again (35 minutes and counting).
