Wauwatosa West class of 2026 Sneak Peek | Jameson

Meet Jameson - quiet, kind, and easygoing. His senior session was relaxed and natural, set against the perfect backdrop: his Jeep and the fall sunshine.

(I’m not gonna lie, his awesome mom was there egging him on, too.)

The truth is, not everyone shows up to their portrait session ready to pose or chat - and that’s okay. Some seniors are naturally reserved, and my job is to make them feel comfortable while still capturing genuine, confident portraits that feel like them.

Here are 5 things I do when my subject is quiet or timid:

1. Keep it simple.
We start with easy, natural poses—nothing forced or overly directed. That helps everyone settle in and relax.

2. Let the environment help.
Props, vehicles, or favorite locations (like Jameson’s Jeep!) give something to lean on or interact with—instant comfort.

3. Take it easy.
No rush, slow down. A few quiet minutes can make all the difference in helping someone open up.

4. Glimpse at the back of the camera.
Once they see how great they look on camera, confidence skyrockets.

5. I can read the room.
Not every session needs high energy or big laughs. Sometimes, calm portraits say the most. What’s YOUR vibe?

Congratulations, Jameson, on your senior year with the Wauwatosa West Class of 2026!

Every personality photographs beautifully - you just need the right approach. Let’s plan a session that feels like you.

P.S. Here’s a fall scheduling clue in case you need it:

—> If your yearbook photo is due in October or early November, schedule an EXPRESS session.

—> If the yearbook deadline is later in November or beyond, a COMPLETE senior session is a-ok!
