Wauwatosa East class of 2027 Sneak Peek | Oliver
What happens when you photograph a kid in kindergarten and then again at seventeen?
You lose about ten seconds of professionalism. (I'm fine. Give me a minute.)
I knew Oliver when he was five. I have that in my head as clearly as I have this week's session on my card...small guy, big backpack, a giant clock he carried around with him everywhere.
And then he walked up to me at Hart Park. Rolled sleeves, hands in his pockets, taller than me, smiling like somebody who already knows where he's headed.
Oliver, you grew up on me. (Well, on your mom, too, for that matter.) Congratulations on your senior year!
Now the part for the parents.
You're going to blink.
That's not me being dramatic, that's just arithmetic. Kindergarten to senior year is twelve first days of school and one very fast blur.
Make sure you capture both versions.
Not necessarily every year, not always a production. Just often enough that you can see the change instead of only feeling it.
And, news flash, senior year is the last one that's yours to schedule. After this, you're working around a work schedule or a college break, and getting everybody in the same room stops being a given.
I photograph high school seniors from Wauwatosa East, Wauwatosa West, Brookfield, New Berlin, Elm Grove, Pewaukee and all over Milwaukee and Waukesha County, from my studio at 155 S. Executive Dr. in Brookfield.
PS: If I photographed your kid back when they were losing teeth and picture day was a whole thing...I'd really love to see them before they leave. Email me. I'll probably cry a little. Worth it.
