HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN YOUR FIELD OF WORK?
Seriously, was during a time when I was trying to decide what to be when I grew up. I had recently lost my job and felt all alone after realizing that I had lost contact with all of my co-workers, colleagues, and customers. LinkedIn was pretty new (like only 4 or 5 years old) and I knew that it would become a huge platform for business people to network. But mostly, I saw it as a place to actually build better relationships and nurture them. So, I took online classes and got certified in Social Media Strategy and the rest is history.
WHAT IS SOMETHING PEOPLE think THEY KNOW ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?
People think that I only work with job seekers - but really - the majority of my clients are business owners and coaches who are trying to grow their businesses.
NAME ONE THING THAT YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?
First, I WISH that everyone would recognize that they are an EXPERT at what they do even though they don't think of themselves in that way. What I do is help them figure out their expertness (is that a word?) and then how to convey that on LinkedIn.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Getting to know how amazing everyone is and what gifts they have.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE STARTING OUT IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
I think my advise is really more for entrepreneurs: You have a special set of skills. Use your voice to share your knowledge with others, especially those just starting out.
