Aurora Central Catholic HS | class of 2017 | Emily

Today marks the first of my 2017 seniors to graduate. Miss Emily's big day is TODAY!!! Congrats, girl!

In all honestly, as much as I ABSOLUTELY ADORE the kids I photograph -- every last one of them -- this young lady has a special place in my heart. She's my niece!

As with anyone else, my ultimate function in the senior portrait process is to make the experience and the outcome reflect THE SENIOR. Sure, you mix in my style, my technique, my vision... but you add in the location that THE SENIOR chooses, the environment that makes THE SENIOR come alive and the tone of the session BECOMES A REFLECTION OF THEIR PERSONALITY.

So, with great pride, allow me to introduce my niece Emily.... graduate of the Aurora Central Catholic High School class of 2017.

Emily is a SMART girl. (Yes, I know I'm biased, but I'm simply reporting the facts!) She has a lifelong love of reading. Her favorite topics are World War II, Abraham Lincoln and....

Selfishly, I'm pretty excited that her choice of colleges moves her CLOSER to us. Carthage College in Kenosha will be "home" for the next years.

Congratulations Emily! I can't wait to see you and give you a giant hug. Have fun celebrating your graduation this weekend.

I am now booking the class of 2018 for their senior portraits. Would you like more information? Fill out this form and I will be in touch wiht you.

Do you know a mom of a high school junior?

More specifically (and realistically) -- do you know a mom of a high school junior who is in complete denial over the fact that her "baby" is going to be a high school SENIOR?

Send that mom on over to me!

Well, first, give her a warm, comforting hug and THEN tell her to watch this little video. Okay... maybe after the hug and before the video... pour her a glass of wine.

Are you ready, Mom in Denial? You can do this. I believe in you. (And we both know your kid is, like, totally rolling his eyes at all this blubbering.)

My job, aside from taking the most breathtaking and sob-inducing portraits of your soon-to-be-senior, is to make this process as EASY AS POSSIBLE. Really. I want you and your son or daughter to have a fun and stress-free senior portrait experience. I want you to enjoy this time and walk away with a smile on your face, a timeless portrait on your wall and a story to tell.

I look forward to answering any questions you have, learning more about you and getting your senior portrait process rolling.

Fill out the form below and let's do this!

Why Hire a Professional Photographer?

I recently attended a photography workshop (in some circles that's known as "continuous ed"). I learned a LOT - and I'm SO excited to share the images I shot at the workshop.

But I stopped myself.

WHY would any of my clients, potential clients, friends, family or non-industry types CARE about these photos? Sure they're pretty, but it's not like I'm going to explain the technical information and camera settings for each photo. Heck, most of the people I come in contact with don't even care what type of camera I shoot with (Canon, always Canon!).

So why would they be interested in these photos?

People sometimes hesitate when hiring a professional photographer. "Why PAY for photos when I have a perfectly good camera on my phone?" "Why SPEND the money on a photographer when my cousin can do it for free?"

While there are a million reasons why, today's explanation is simple. Why would you hire a teacher who is professionally trained and, year after year, continues her education? Because you can tell the difference between a TRAINED teacher and a novice... Just as you can tell the difference between a PROFESSIONAL photographer and a novice.

So, with that being said, here are those images...

The wall in this image was not blue, nor did we paint it. Except with LIGHT. ;)

In fact, all these photos were taken in a dark, boring hotel hallway. Except the last one with the beautiful mama-to-be. For that shot we were outside and I STILL used flash... but you can't tell! (That's a good thing!)

So now imagine you're out with your friends. The scene catches your eye and you MUST take a photo of your friend sitting at the bar. This is most likely how it would turn out, right?

I shot that with my iPhone. You can't even see the poor guy's face!

Enter professional flash lighting and a photographer who is trained to use it...

Wait, WHAT? Let's see that again.

As if you weren't already sold on the benefits of investing in professional photography, here's one more... THIS was my actual vision for the photo of the guy at the bar...

Are you ready to make the leap? I'm here for you! Let's talk about what's important to you for your next portrait session.

Muskego HS Senior Portraits | class of 2017 | Nathan

Welcome to Stories Framed Photography's Senior Month

I love when moms come back to me with their younger children as they become seniors, it's the biggest compliment I could receive. Last year I photographed Arthur. This year it's Nathan's turn.

And heeeere's... NATHAN.

Nathan will be graduating from Muskego High School. He may be a quiet kid, but he's not too shy. He did a FANTASTIC job at his session. His smile is warm and his eyes are thoughtful.

Nathan was really fun to work with, easy going and very calm.

(And his mom is a doll!)

Congratulations, Nathan! Best of luck to you!

Germantown HS Senior Portraits | class of 2017 | Joey

Welcome to Stories Framed Photography's Senior Month!

The high school senior class of 2017 will be graduating in the next month and things are really getting exciting for these kids. I mean, they had prom, they have senior ditch day, they've stopped doing homework...

This month I am so excited to share my class of 2017 seniors. You may have seen some of their photos floating around the Stories Framed universe, but here they are in all their glory.

Let's start with... JOEY

Joey is graduating from Germantown High School and is as smart as a whip.

And he has a great sense of style.

Also, he's a sweet kid.

Okay, I'll stop.

Okay, one more thing. When we were shooting his session, Joey was SO easy to work with. He practically read my mind when I needed him to turn a certain way. He seemed truly comfortable in front of the camera. If academics don't work out for you, kid, you can start a modeling career.

Congratulations Joey! Best of luck to you in your future!

Hey, class of 2018! Don't procrastinate getting your senior portraits scheduled. It may seem early but I promise you, it's not. Let's talk!
