Sneak Peek | Milwaukee couple + their BFF

Have you ever wondered what a "Power Couple" would actually look like? Well, here's your answer!

Meet Dan and Amanda. They are quite the pair, each entrepreneurs in their own right. In fact, I would even go as far as calling them Mr. and Mrs. Milwaukee. EVERYONE seems to know them. What? You don't??? Turn to the person next to you. Do they know Dan and Amanda. See? I told you.

Dan is THE Tall Guy of Tall Guy and a Grill and Amanda runs The Simple Home. I was completely honored when they asked me to photograph them.

Today I'm sharing one (adorable!) shot as a little Sneak Peek into their session.

Enjoy Sneak Peek, guys! And make sure you tell Murphy that the lady with all the treats says hi. :)

Is it time to update your family photos? Let's talk! I have some openings left for July but I'm also booking into August (and beyond). Let's get something scheduled today!

Marquette University HS Senior Portraits | Class of 2018 | Sneak Peek for Joe

Last week I posted on Instagram a pre-sneak peek from the back of my camera. In the caption I wrote about this boy - let's call him "Joe" - and how challenging he was to make laugh.

I need to backtrack a bit.

See, the thing is, Joe (his real name, actually) is the nicest kid you'll meet. He's smart, athletic and soft-spoken. He has an amazing and bright smile.

But he just wouldn't laugh... even with his crazy mom literally doing a jig. The ha-ha was a no-go.

And before you ask, I did try a few of my LEGENDARY jokes on him. Nope. Not even a crack. Heck, I would have even been happy with an eye-roll.

Before you get all down on the kid, I do need to tell you this: Joe did a GREAT job. He smiled on cue. He moved his arms, legs, face, nose whatever I asked, just how I asked it. He had a great selection of outfits and locations picked out. I even got the sense that - deep down, quite possibly when he's not in front of a camera - he has a great sense of humor.

So, Joe, here's your senior portrait Sneak Peek. If you know Joe you'll agree: this look is SO JOE.

Headshots at a radio station.

I was thrilled to be chosen to shoot head shots for some local celebrities... the Lake FM and WTMJ radio hosts! It was a fun day at the station. After the shoot I learned some exciting things about how my photos would be used. But more on that in a second.

I'll say this: directing adults to stand still is a totally different experience than little kids. It was a tad easier - I didn't have to bribe them with lollipops! (Well, not really...)

This is Danny Clayton. If you are from Milwaukee, you may remember him from the WKTI days. Well, he's back! And this time, he's waking us up every morning with the help of.....

This was a fun shoot, like I said. I got the chance to work with grownups and play around a little (they aren't exactly corporate head shots, after all). We chatted, told jokes and listened to some music. Speaking of fun.... Vince Vitrano showed up, too. If you don't know this guy, he does the morning news on TMJ4 and pops over to Lake FM for updates. He's one of those perennially happy people (in real life, not just on TV). The adorable Andi Miller who does traffic reports joined us as well. With the four of them ready to go, I shot one of my new favorite images.

This is how you get your news. :) Andi, Gretchen, Danny and Vince are busy doing their jobs. As you can tell.

So I took pictures for these local celebrities. Now what?

I just about fell over when I saw my photos on their Facebook page. Then I saw them on their website and learned that they were sent out across the country in a press release announcing Danny's arrival - and thus printed in a few national radio publications. This is the behind-the-scenes type stuff that you may not usually hear about: of course there was a photographer who took those pictures. That photographer happened to be me. And no matter what or who I shoot, I will always get giddy with glee over seeing people (legally) use my images. It gives me such a thrill. Really.

There is more to come from this session. Tune in (ha ha) next time and I'll share some more of my giddiness with you.
