Aaron's Senior Portrait Sneak Peek | Brookfield East class of 2019

Last week, I met this great kid named Aaron and his lovely mom, Lisa, at a nearby park for Aaron's senior portrait session.

Aaron was totally relaxed and fun to work with. He's a go-with-the-flow kind of kid. I like that. Not only does it make my job easier (than it already was), it makes it more fun, too. I could keep coming up with ideas and he'd be totally down with anything. "Hey, Aaron! Jump in the pond..." I'm sure he would have if I'd asked.

While I was looking over the photos from his session, this one struck me.

Not only is he completely and totally natural looking, but I knew I had to convert this one to black and white. There are more from this set with the blue wall - I couldn't make them all black and white - that would be a crime! But one is okay, right?

The color is so vibrant - oh, and THAT WALL! But the black and white is so classic and timeless.

What do you think? Which do you prefer?

School is back in session. That means your yearbook photo is due soon... don't wait too long or you'll be sorry and end up using your ID photo. (Nooooo!!!!) You may need more information before booking, or you may be ready to go. Choose a button and click it...

Making people happy

Sneak Peek for Wil | class of 2019 is here!

Less than 24 hours ago, high school seniors across the Milwaukee area officially closed the chapter on their high school career. Graduation Day! It's all over... and yet just beginning.

And for me, the high school senior portrait photographer, I'm going through (kinda) the same thing. Yesterday I officially clicked "closed" on their files that I've been working out of all year. I'll admit, that little task of closing their files made me a little sniffy. I've gotten to know these kids and I'm so happy for their achievements.

So with that, congratulations to the class of 2018! Go get em!

(Although I still have a few kids' blog posts yet to share. Stay tuned this week...)

And now, I begin a new chapter for this new crop of high school seniors. Welcome, class of 2019!

In fact, I've got a running start! Let's give a virtual high-five to my first member of the Stories Framed Photography Class of 2019, WIL. He's a member of Brookfield Academy's *next* graduating class.

Here's your sneak peek - just one image of the many amazing shots we took on Saturday. It was a fun afternoon finding all the nooks and crannies in your HUGE backyard.

Are you graduating next year? It sounds far away, doesn't it? Well, it goes FAST and I'd hate for you to miss all the time you have now to schedule your senior portraits. I'll make it easy for you: CLICK HERE to learn more about senior sessions.

Elm Grove Photography Studio Opening a Grand Success

Elm Grove, WI
Monday morning

Wheeeeeewwww.

That. Was. So. Much. Fun.

I want to give a GIANT THANK YOU to EVERYONE who came to my Thursday evening ribbon cutting with the Brookfield and Wauwatosa Chambers of Commerce. I was overwhelmed by all the people who walked in my doors. I still can't believe ALL OF YOU were there! But I think I know why - you secretly wanted to make sure I really had a photography studio, didn't you? haha. I do, I'm not faking you out!

And then Saturday, I was once again honored to have Local First Milwaukee perform a ribbon cutting at my Open House. We were really lucky to have GORGEOUS weather so we went outside and basked in the sunshine.

A big lesson I learned over the two events... I need to get myself a pair of giant scissors.

Thank you to my friends and family who stopped by on Saturday. The Wauwatosa Mayor, Kathy Ehley, visited me! I couldn't believe she took the time out of her day for little old me.

I have SO many photos to share and there are lots of them floating around on Facebook and Instagram. Are you ready?

Thank you to Jason Brewer for shooting photos on Thursday.... and to my own kiddo, Sam, for "second-shooting".

Here are some moments from Saturday's Open House... however, I didn't have a personal photographer following me around that day.  :)
